Dear Diary,
So, I had another L********* shift again on Thursday, which in truth, was just as awesome as the last one I did (which was my first "party" shift). Except this time I was working with one dude who has the same name as a wrestler, and shares my ideas about Ipod-Speaker hooking up so we can groove whilst laying tables.Gawd love him. Anyway, once you got past the boring mundane shite of preparing tables, and the fact that the canteen had run out of hot food, it was amazing. Especially since this time, we had about 105 guests. Party Dress Envy raging like mad.
Saw Lee a lot more than I thought I would, since we were told he'd be busy. And he's got me another shift on the 18th. Hmmmm. Mmmmmm. There's something about him that makes me go all jelloid at the knees whenever he turns up. Plus, he's just so friendly to EVERYONE, which occasionally makes me have to stop and remind myself that friendly does not necessarily equal flirting (The amount of times unwanted suitors have called me on that......!) Still, have been practising my eye contact on him, not to mention the "gaze-at-lips-then-glance-up-like-startled-rabbit" looks. He's had his hair cut too - looks like he's just come home from the army. Think I preferred it longer, but then, it's not my head. Commented on it and told him it looked nice, anyway. Makes him look quite hard (in a Bruce Willis kinda way), although obviously didn't say THAT out loud, as it could be open to misinterpretation.......
Has to be said though, the dreams (or daydreams) are getting a little out of control - my brain is continually racing through scenarios where we're somehow alone together in the never-ending winding secret passages of the L*********, in a broken down lift, in his office with the door locked, even waking up together..... the list is endless, really. Grrrrrr..... must get over this madness. Especially when I just KNOW that he'll turn up to the Staff Christmas Party with his girlfriend - who will undoubtedly be stunning, wearing a fabulous Selfridge party dress, and absolutely lovely to boot. Come on, how could someone THAT attractive be single? Let alone interested in me? I am a fool to even think it. Hmmmm..... Must snap out of this and focus on another. The DJ, maybe?
Good news though - on pub shift tonight, another member of staff (who'd popped in for a drink) has said she'd be happy to cover me on Friday 19th. So that's at least ONE more L********** shift I can do. Yay! Oh, though. Musn't get all excited and tell Lee tomorrow how extremely available I am. Happened last night, when we were meant to be signing out, and after about 3 minutes of me jabbering away about catching up on shifts, and how available I was and how much I loved working there so he could call on me anytime (whilst others were filing out of the room), he looked up calmly and said:
"You know, you should probably go get your taxi before you miss it."
Fucking OUCH.
